Arrivals

Pulitzer sits in the middle in the historic centre of Amsterdam. The hotel is easy to reach whether your arrival is by taxi, public transport, private car, canal boat or even on foot. Please be aware that due to road work in the area around the hotel, there will be changes in the accessibility of our hotel for a longer period in 2022. The Municipality of Amsterdam ensures that the entire neighbourhood remains accessible, by changing the driving directions on several streets. The road works might cause small delays.

Amsterdam

Arts

Amsterdam has been a world renowned centre of culture since the Golden Age and the arts continue to play a key role in forming the cultural identity of this beautiful city. The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra is regarded as the best in the world. Then there’s the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum and several other world class museums. Countless galleries, plenty of summer festivals, stunning architecture and an ever-evolving creative industry are just the tip of Amsterdam’s cultural scene.

Canals

Amsterdam is a city synonymous with its canals and is often referred to as the “Venice of the North”. The city centre consists of ninety small islands connected by more than two-hundred bridges. The 17th century canal rings were constructed in the Dutch Golden Age, and they continue to form the heart of social life in the city, particularly throughout the Summer season. The easiest and most relaxing way to see the sights of Amsterdam is from the water.  We highly recommend joining us for a cruise on Pulitzer’s classic hotel boat.

Culture

Amsterdam has an energy that is totally unique. Those who live here adore the city and visitors are quick to fall in love with the rich history and relaxed, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Amsterdam has maintained a strong international mindset since the Golden Age and is now home to more than 180 nationalities, a rich international food scene and a local population who switch effortlessly between languages on a daily basis.

Bicycles

The centre of Amsterdam was originally designed for pedestrians, horses and boat – and has more recently adapted to bicycles. Biking is a way of life in Holland and the “Amsterdammers” are no exception. The city is currently home to more bikes than people and has 500 kilometres of dedicated bike paths. Pulitzer has a fleet of bikes for guests to use during their stay so they can truly live like a local.

Neighborhood

The Canals & The Nine streets

The Canal District, known for its 17th and 18th century gables, is undoubtedly the most quintessential part of central Amsterdam and home to several vibrant neighborhoods. Pulitzer Amsterdam is located in the Nine Streets on the doorstep of the colorful Jordaan neighborhood. The picturesque Nine Streets is a boutique-shopping hub and full of charming cafes and some of the city’s finest restaurants. There is plenty to discover in Amsterdam, and the perfect place to start is on the hotel’s doorstop.
