Hotel Pulitzer Opens Sustainable Wine Salon in Monumental Pharmacy

Hotel Pulitzer, a Luxury Collection Hotel has opened a sustainable Wine Salon in her monumental pharmacy with an innovative Wine & Food concept on May 12th. As from May 16, guests can dine daily in the Wine Salon, based on their selection of wines. For this concept Hotel Pulitzer is collaborating exclusively with Terra Vitis wines. Wine Salon "De Apotheek" also serves as the new home of the Terra Vitis Wine Club Amsterdam.

AMSTERDAM, 13 May 2011 - The former pharmacy still has the original interior from 1800. It is situated on the Reestraat, forming a typical Amsterdam setting in the middle of the famous "9 Streets" of the Jordaan. "De Apotheek" is part of the "Monumentenzorg" and is a characteristic and very intimate location. At the site where the finest Dutch wineries were housed during the time of restaurant "De Goudbloem', the wine is back in the attention today.

Wine Salon "De Apotheek" is part of Restaurant Keizersgracht 238, but has its own concept. The Wine Salon is open daily and offers dinners based on the choice of wine; there is only one wine list available with Terra Vitis wines, which are only being served in the Wine Salon. Terra Vitis lasting quality wines are wines with a great respect for people, nature and environment. From this passion, the Terra Vitis vintners in France produce their wines according to a strict sustainable concept. Groups can reserve "De Aptoheek" for Wine tastings, Wine & Food pairings and special events.

Ferencz Deli, ambassador of Terra Vitis in the Netherlands, together with Jos de Groot, Food & Beverage Manager Hotel Pulitzer, officially opened the Wine Salon. After a master class on sustainable viticulture, the guests could also taste the wines. Several French winemakers of Terra Vitis specially traveled to Amsterdam for this event. At the end of the evening all the guests received a unique wine box with a personalized voice message. The "talking wine box" is an innovative gift concept that is now also available at Hotel Pulitzer.

Peter Pulitzer, founder of Hotel Pulitzer, was honored to be the first member of the Terra Vitis Wince Club Amsterdam during the opening of the Wine Salon. The Wine Club organizes monthly events for its members in the Wine Salon. Anyone can be a member and a enjoy benefits at Hotel Pulitzer with their membership card. Via a newsletter, members are being informed about special benefits and Wine Club events.
